Roman's Quiet Courage Virtue Award - May 2024
By partnering with The Catholic Foundation, we have presented the Roman's Quiet Courage Virtue Award to Evan Adams, an exceptional 11th grader at Vandebilt Catholic High School. Evan's unwavering dedication to his faith and his outstanding achievements make him a deserving recipient of this recognition. Evan serves at St. Francis De Sales as an altar server, including serving as a Pontifical Server for Bishop Dorsonville and participating in the Bishop's funeral Mass. "Blessed are the clean of heart: for they shall see God." Evan approaches the teachings of the Church with utmost sincerity and strives to be free from sin, believing that he must be worthy to stand on the altar alongside the priests and the Bishop.
‘23 Quiet Courage Award
On May 17, 2023 at Vandebilt Catholic’s ‘23 Graduation, Ivy, Simone, and Ryan had the honor of giving an award in Roman’s name, The Quiet Courage Award. Quiet Courage is about moving forward, one step at a time, when the circumstances are not ideal or when there is no immediate reward in sight. This years recipient is Seth Brown. Seth goes above and beyond when living his faith through being a part of the school’s Bridge Team and celebrating God’s sacraments daily. Seth is undeniably a role model within his class. We wish you the best of luck and look forward to seeing you grown within your faith.
Seth Brown is the son of Gary and Sonda Brown.
April - May 2023 - Let Your Light Shine Award
CFSL and Fr. PJ Madden had the opportunity host an ice cream party with St. Francis de Sales Cathedral School's students for the Let Your Light Shine award in honor of Roman Robichaux.
The Let Your Light Shine award is an award given once a month where grades 4-7, students are nominated by their peers for shining their light inside and outside of the classroom. In grades K-3rd, teachers nominate students.
These students are examples of faith, kindness, compassion, empathy, and friendship. This award is given in memory of the former St. Francis student Roman Robichaux. He truly let his light shine for all to see.
