Mrs. Sonda shares…
We had Our first varsity basketball game of the season a few nights ago.
Vandebilt was playing at West St. John High School. It was Seth‘s first game of the season of his senior year.
Gary and I were sitting at the very top of the bleachers. Midway through the first quarter this little boy came and sat next to me out of the blue. He immediately asked me if he could have my “wristband.” Of course I gave it to him.
He wanted to know what the wording on the “wristband” meant so I told him all about Roman. I told him how special he was, that he was in heaven, and how much he loved God. He was very curious and had ALOT of questions for me. He referred to Roman as my “friend in the sky.”
We talked about how he could LIVE LIKE ROMAN did and how much of an honor it was to wear his “wristband.”
He told me his name was Adrian and that he was six years old. He wanted to know who we were there to see so I showed him where Seth was on the court. He wanted to know his name and how old he was. He told me he was there to watch the Rams and see his cousin play but his cousin was sitting down (on the bench). By the end of the first quarter he was cheering for OUR team. Every time Seth scored he would say loudly “go Seth Brown” or “go number 3”.
I can’t tell you how much this truly warmed my heart. I knew this was all Roman and it was his way of showing us that he was there to cheer Seth on as he always did.
By the way we won the game.
Final score was 44 to 82 -Terriers.
Seth had one of his best games!
Roman, you are loved and missed every day. Keep watching over us, spreading your love, and shining your light !
